Happy Halloween!

Aunt Abby and Chad carving away

Wesley and Aunt Alicia goofing off while carving.
Gracie's first year carving, she did so good and took lots of time and created a beautiful smiley face pumpkin!
Sissies giving each other big hugs!
Our newest little addition is Eric and Alicia's little pumpkin, Kooper! What a sweet smile!
Happy Halloween to all you ghosts and goblins! I love Halloween! I love the season, the decorations, costumes, trick or treating (candy) and pumpkins, lots and lots of pumpkins. Every year my mother-n-law, Grandma Latha hosts an annual pumpkin carving party. It has grown over the years but one thing remains the same awesome pumpkins. This year we were missing a few family members due to the flu but the party always goes on. Grandma Latha makes awesome food, we have friends and family spend the day with fellowship and the highlight... carving pumpkins. We have carved as many as 30 pumpkins, this year, 17. Chad always makes his annual R+L pumpkin for Grandma Latha and Papa Randy. We love this tradition and can't wait for the next year! Safe trick-or-treating for all!

Come on in... You are always Welcome

Welcome! Yep, I've been talking about doing a family blog for awhile. I hope you all stop by often as you peek into our little life on top of a hill in Monticello, Iowa. A look into our day to day life on an acreage raising our four awesome kids, working crazy jobs, and enjoying life with a beautiful view. I have thought long and hard about a blog name, it finally came to me. We tell eachother all the time, "Life is good", today and each day after. Wesley often comments, "Mom, it doesn't get any better than this". We are so blessed!

We fill our lives with lots of love, laughter and those occasional tears. We like to live simply and feel sometimes we were born in the wrong era. We hope to share our love of the land on which we live and all the wonderful things it produces. We love living in the great mid-west and even though I love to travel I most enjoy coming home to our little piece of Heaven in Iowa.
Even though life takes us in so many different directions we focus most on our family and our life together in this crazy world. Trying to make sense of this world is sometimes difficult, we try to teach our kids the basics. You know... "Do unto others as you would have done to you". Our favorite times include spending time with our wonderful families and laughing through many days and nights with great friends. Whether it be on horseback or swinging on the porch swing join us for an awesome ride!
